Management for tinnitus and hyperacusis mainly focuses on retraining the sound perception. An audiologist will help the client to manage his/her complaints using procedures such as tinnitus retraining therapy, sound therapy, systemic desensitization depending on the complaints that the client presents with. Management for tinnitus and Hyperacusis happens on multiple visits until the client is able to train their brain to revert the abnormal sound perception. Audiologist will also provide you with intense counselling and support to overcome the problem.
